Energy and Power Generation

Bord na Mona Energy produces and sells milled peat feedstock for the generation of electricity at the ESB peat fired stations at West Offaly and Lough Ree and for the company's station at Edenderry, Co. Offaly.

The generation of electricity from peat reflects Government policies on the use of economic, indigenous energy and on strategic diversification of the fules used in energy supply.

The Bord na Mona Energy business also supplies other Bord na Mona companies with peat as a raw material for the maunfacture of horticultural products and briquettes.
